She was born in the Rover, TN community in Bedford County on January 15, 1953. A graduate of Forrest High School, she obtained an LPN degree and worked as a nurse and CNA instructor for most of her lifetime. She was retired from NHC Pulaski and a longtime member of The Well Church of God in Pulaski.
Gayle, known by her siblings as “Tootsie”, and lovingly as “Granny” by all her babies, was a devoted Christian, mother, sister, daughter, and friend. She spent her lifetime selflessly serving the Lord and serving others above herself, and always wore a smile while doing it.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jolly and Bessie Mae Fagan Walls, her husband Scott Braden, Sr., a granddaughter, Constance Braden, her brothers, Vernon “Son” Walls, Nolan Walls, Pat Walls, and Jim Walls, her sisters, Mary Sue Bell, Sarah Morgan, and Virgina “Sissy” Moore, and her twin infant siblings, Freddie & Freda Walls.
Visitation will be on Friday, August 7, 2020, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Carr & Erwin Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at The Well on Saturday, August 8, 2020, at 3:00 p.m., with burial to follow in Gibsonville Cemetery.
Survivors include her sons, Scott Braden and Brandy, Chad Braden and Cara, Josh Braden and Paige, Ike Braden and Lindsey all of Pulaski, TN, daughters, Mimi Braden Anderson and Jamie of Goodspring, TN and Audra Kirk and Jared of Pulaski, TN., her 19 Grandchildren, her brothers, Bill Walls and wife Jean of Unionville, Gene Walls and wife Sarah of Tallahassee, Florida, and Jolly Walls, Jr. and wife Nancy of Chapel Hill, TN, and her sisters, Betty Collins, Lollie Petty, Kay King and husband Jackie of Chapel Hill, and Wanda Clark of Murfreesboro.
