James Thomas Ervin (Tommy), or as some knew him (Poppa Smurf), age 75, died January 28, 2013, at NHC of Pulaski, TN, He was retired from Torrington Fafnir, attended Lynnville Church of Christ, graduated from Jones High School in Lynnville and served in the US Army.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Billye Ruth Ervin and a sister, Brenda Lynn.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Burns Ervin, 2 daughters, Benita Ford and Cindy Jenkins of Nashville, and 2 step-children, Nikki Rose Oliver and Jonathan Rose of Lynnville, TN, sisters, Alice Woodard (Jack) of Lynnville, TN, Frankie Davis (Freddie) of Huntsville, and Betty Jo Clark (Toby) of Columbia. He had 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild along with many nieces and nephews and many good friends.
Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4PM to 8PM at the Carr & Erwin Funeral Home.
Memorials service will be held on Wednesday, 1-30-2013, at 3PM at Lynnville Church of Christ.
