Mabel Luthene Elder

Mable Luthene Elder passed this life and into the hands of the Lord early Saturday morning, September 3, at Tullahoma Life Care Center in Tullahoma, TN. She was born September 13, 1922 in Giles County, TN. Her parents were Robin and Ruby Marks. She was a member of United Methodist Church, Tullahoma and served as a Sunday school teacher for many years. Preceding her in death was her first husband, Edward Sullivan Lewter, her parents Robin and Ruby Marks, a step-son Larry Marcel Elder, a grandson Michael Alan Elder, and a daughter Delene Stone. Mrs. Elder spent most of her life in Giles County, but later moved to Tullahoma, TN in 1984. She worked as a store clerk for many years and was secretary for Richland High School in Giles County. Her last job was a store clerk for Castner Knott, Tullahoma. Mrs. Elder was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She had a strong and caring feeling for others.

Mrs. Elder is survived by her husband Roy B. Elder, daughter Linda Branch (Vernon), four grandchildren Cyndy Stone Allen, Murfreesboro; Tim Barber (Rita), Smyrna; Melanie Bennett, Lawrenceburg, and Robin Stone, Murfreesboro; four great grandchildren Emily Barber, Trace Bennett, Kayla Krieger, Layne Allen and one great great grandchild, Tayler Krieger.

Visitation will be Tuesday September 6 from 11 a.m. until funeral time at 2 p.m. at Carr & Erwin Funeral Home. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery.
