Ople was born September 9, 1933 to Aubrey C. and Velma D. Lucurs Powell. She was a devoted wife and loved her family dearly. Ople was a member of First Baptist Church of Pulaski and was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 70 years Ernest Hughes, brothers Delma Powell, Landon Powell and a grandson Brian Woods.
Visitation will be 11am-1pm Tuesday January 21, 2025 at Carr & Erwin Funeral Home with funeral to follow at 1pm. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Survivors include her daughter Deborah Woods of Pulaski, grandchild Bridget McMasters, great grandchildren Brooke Hargrove, Garrett White, brothers Bobby Powell and wife Jeanette of Prospect, Owen Powell and wife Darla of Murfreesboro, numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
