

Henry Grady Marchman, 76, died peacefully in hospice on August 22, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 29, 1947 in Coffee Springs, Alabama, the oldest child of W. Glenn and Louise (Worthington) Marchman.
Henry was a graduate of Apopka Memorial High School in 1966, Lake Sumter Community College in 1968, and Florida State University in 1974. He served three years in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1971, including one year as a 1st Lieutenant in Vietnam.
He started his professional career as a CPA working for a public accounting firm in Miami. After moving from Miami he became the Tax Manager at Tropicana Products in Bradenton, FL for eighteen years. He was later employed by Vivendi Universal in New York City and worked a short time for the IRS.
Henry was a member of the Sertoma and Kiwanis Clubs, and was a past President of the Florida Tax Executives Institute. He enjoyed boating, fishing, walking his dog Daisy, and spending time with his granddaughter.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Janet (Williams) Marchman, daughter Jennifer Marchman, son Richard (Amy) Marchman, granddaughter Grace Marchman, sisters Melinda (Bill) Staton, Sandra (Jim) Hollon, and many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents Glenn and Louise Marchman, two brothers Joseph (Andrea) Marchman and David (Jan) Marchman. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Service will be held at Kays, Ponger & Uselton, 635 E. Marion Avenue, Punta Gorda, Florida on September 7, 2024. Viewing will be at 2pm with a Celebration of Life at 3pm. Inurnment will be at Sarasota National Cemetery at a later date.
