Paula J. Bird, 71, of Port Charlotte, FL passed away September 6, 2019, at her home. She was born May 10, 1948, in East Liverpool, Ohio to Paul Mack and Bernetta McFadden. Paula was a 1966 graduate of East Liverpool High School and achieved her MA in Education at Florida Gulf Coast University. Paula worked as an ESE Liason for Charlotte County Schools from 1994 until her retirement in 2016.
Paula is survived by the love of her life John (Jack) Bird, they were married on December 21, 1974, and had 44 beautiful years together. She also leaves behind two daughters: Tania (Petty) Woistman and her husband Ken Woistman of Brooksville, FL, Theresa (Petty) Geary and her husband Dan Geary of East Liverpool, OH, and two step-children, Kim Walters and family and John Bird Jr. As well as four grandchildren and one great-grandchild, Nikki Yager and husband Keith with their daughter Rynn, Brian Woistman and his wife Kayla, Kori Geary, and Josh Geary. She is also survived by her mother Bernetta McFadden, sister Martha Cochran, and sister Dianna Bevins, nieces and nephews, her father Paul Mack and brother Donald Mack have preceded her in death.
Paula's greatest love, besides her husband, children, and grandchildren, was her Steelers Football team and traveling. She had been to all 50 states and had only 3 continents remaining to visit, of which she had them already planned. Paula had an intense love of life and lived every day to the fullest without regret, always with a smile ready for anyone she met. She continued substituting for the Charlotte County School System as well as walking, playing Bunco and spending time with countless friends that she had made over the years.
Paula would always say "I never know when my last day will be, so I live each day like it's my last", and that she did.
