Sandra Jean Russell

Sadly, our beloved, Sandra Jean Russell, 82, of Sarasota, FL passed away on April 16, 2026. After several years of battling many health issues and hanging on for her family, she finally succumbed to kidney failure. Sandra was born on September 1, 1943, in Rhinelander, WI. In 1963 she met David and they married on 04/25/1963, going on to have Cassandra and Jeffery. She is survived by her husband, David, daughter, Cassandra, son, Jeffery, daughter-in-law, Silvana, as well as a brother, Roger and Sister-in-law, Carol and various nieces and nephews.

Sandra had an impact on each person she interacted with. She was courageous, inspirational, kind, loving, funny, and a ball of fire that showed us what can be accomplished with determination and persistence. Despite her many challenges she lived her life on her terms.

In her earlier years she loved to paint. She was quite a talented dabbler, as she put it. Throughout her life she developed great interest in animals, birds, flowers and the beach. Her greatest joys and accomplishments were the love of her husband and the gift of being a Mom to her two children.

Funeral Service to be held May 2, 10am, at Indian Springs Cemetery, 9500 Indian Springs Road, Punta Gorda, FL. Flowers may be sent to Kays-Ponger & Uselton, 635 Marion Avenue, Punta Gorda, FL.
