He served with the United States Army from 1953-1956.
Bill was First Exalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge in New Jersey from 1972-1973.
Bill joined the Edison, New Jersey Police Department in 1965. He loved being a Police Officer and several years later was involved in a Bank Robbery while on duty at the Menlo Park Mall on September 16, 1971. During the robbery he was shot several times which took many years to recuperate from injuries that were sustained which forced his early retirement in April 1972. He was a true hero and we thank God he lived to tell us his story.
It took time to recoup from this tragedy but it didn’t keep Bill from eventually buying a rug business and moving his family to Florida.
Bills other business venture was owner and operator of Mr. Donut in Port Charlotte which he did for many years.
Bill realized it was time to enjoy life with his beautiful wife Dolores so they decided to travel. They both loved Las Vegas and would travel there several times a year where they had so much fun together.
He loved to write. He would write stories of his life in his spare time going all the way back when he was a child. He always prayed one day his family would read them and enjoy them as much as he did writing them. He was always so proud of each and every one of children and was very excited that his son Billy followed in his footsteps and became a police officer “I was so proud of him”
He was such a hard worker, he worked two jobs just to give his family the best life he could.
Bill had such a strong loving bond with his grandchildren. He loved them all so much and they adored their ”Poppy” his grandchildren and great grandchildren just filled his heart up with so much love.
Dad you drove us crazy at times but you were one of a kind. You stood by your family side and loved us all so much.
We will miss you terribly but the memories we have will live in our hearts forever.
The family will be holding a private service.
