

CSM Aubrey Smith born April 14, 1934, passed away on February 5, 2013 after a short illness and went to the Lord well prepared. He spent 30 years of dedicated service in the Army and 48 years with his loving wife, Elisabeth and settled in Tacoma. In his military career he served in Japan, Korea, Germany, where he met his wife Elisabeth, and two tours of duty in Vietnam. While in Vietnam, he was wounded and received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star including multiple other accommodations throughout his distinguished career while serving country. Aubrey is survived by his wife Elisabeth, step-son Peter and family in Germany, sisters, brothers, nieces, and nephews in Georgia. For the last ten years Aubrey enjoyed living in the community of Harvest Gate, where he has made many friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 11:00 am at Powers Funeral Home, 320 W. Pioneer, Puyallup. The graveside with military honors will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 13 at 1:15 pm at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent. Remembrances may be made to your favorite charity.
