Dora M Root

Dora Root 12/30/1919 - 5/4/2012 Dora, along with Lloyd, her husband of 74 years, led a very full and active life. Together they enjoyed skiing, hunting, fishing, traveling, and golf. She adored her many friends, her church family and her Bible study group, but this paled in comparison to her family, which she so deeply loved. She is now reunited with her beloved daughter Barbara, who preceded her in death in 1985. Dora is survived by her husband Lloyd, daughter and son-in-law Billie and Marty Whitman, who lovingly cared for her until her final breath, grandchildren Rick, Rhonda, Kelli, Tami and JoEll, 8 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Multicare Hospice Team. Viewing at Powers Funeral Home in Puyallup Thursday, May 10, 2012 from 3pm - 8pm, and again the following day for one hour preceding the service, which will be held Friday, May 11, 2012 at 12:30pm, followed by interment at Woodbine Cemetery. The family will then host a gathering at First Christian Church, 432 Wood Ave. in Sumner.
