

Douglas C. Bloom, 63, of Edgewood, passed away on April 2, 2015. Born in Soap Lake on May 25, 1951 to Harold and Gloria Bloom, he graduated from Ephrata High in 1969. A proud Coug, he earned his BS in Civil Engineering at WSU. He worked at CBI and Pioneer Chemical, before retiring from Concrete Technology. When not golfing, he enjoyed boating, camping and college football. He especially liked social get-togethers with friends, family and grandkids. Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Mary (McCloskey) Bloom; son Brian (Leslie); daughter, Meg (Aaron) Nelson; brother, Fred (Donna); sister, Karen (Dennis) Duffy; grandchildren, Grant, Evan, Everlie and Declan. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by his grandsons, Emmett and Everett. He wanted to thank Rainier Oncology for getting him through the last few years of prostate cancer. There will be a Celebration of his life on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 4:00pm at Powers Funeral Home in Puyallup. A reception will follow at the Linden Golf Course. Doug will be missed by all - from his Linden golf family, his high school friends, his go to buddy, Randy Isaac, but especially by us, his family who loved him dearly.
