To the Stenberg Family - We didn't get to know each other well, but our dads brought us into each others life for a reason. They both received the best care they could at Life Care Center-Puyallup and they both knew how loved they were. We wanted to let you know how touching it was to receive the beautiful flowers at my dad's memorial. Please know that we are truly sorry for your loss and our prayers go out to your family. Thanks again for the flowers.

I will sure miss Jim coming over to visit me on the lake. He was always cheerful and interesting and sharp as a tack. Jim and I had something in common - Nadzab airstrip in Papua New Guinea! He served there during WWII and I played on it (then abandoned) as a kid living in New Guinea where my parents were Lutheran Missionaries in the '70's. And of course we had the scandinavian thing too. Life will not be the same in our corner of the world without him. Lovely celebratory service yesterday with loads of stories shared. Hi Jim, I'm sure going to miss you. I can remember the days when we had are of our home made dune buggys. You sure helped me a lot over the years working on cars. All the camping trips we did over the years too. I remember when I took you out in my CJ5 up to the funny rocks or moon rocks in Eastern Washington. Rest in peace my friend.

To Aunt Nixie and the Family,
                I am sorrowed by the passing of Jim and know all the family misses him. I remember both Jim and Nixie visited us in Idaho when my Mom was alive and was surprised he liked to see old barns and old towns. We visited Cripple Creek, a once booming silver mininig town, and he thoroughly enjoyed not only the trip through the back roads but also the old town. He was a most interesting man. I am thinking of all you all and hope this time is not only a time of sadness but a time when your memories can make you smile. Love and the blessings of God to all. I knew my best friend Mike had a great father long before I had the pleasure of meeting you, Jim.  You've left me with numerous wonderful memories: cross-country skiing, sailing, riding in your dune buggy, working on my VW (who else could have taught this mechanical klutz how to do a first-rate tune up?), and just talking about how to make the world a better place.  Your passionate interest in doing so will be sorely missed.
You were and are a friend, a mentor and a father figure whom I'll never forget.

Hay big guy you have left quit a legacy behind; I know you’re on that long dune buggy ride.   Who is going to remind me to check my oil and water, how will the cars survive?  How will I keep up with the news and get insights into who to vote for.  I feels good that your last engine rebuild was my boat motor, even though you missed the cooling problem and the gages don’t work properly, it runs great.  I’m really going to miss the little notes you hung on things to remind us to check the oil and water and not to forget our keys, which always had long tails with red flags. Jimmy, so happy i got to  see you during your last days on this earth--you were a tough good man - hard worker-loved your kids,  and grandkids unconditionally little Nixie was your pride and joy--you never wanted to leave her! i was always so proud of you--and your words of wisdom were so meaningful-- i will never  forget the dunebuggy trips to the Naches Trails which  you so much enjoyed!  rest in Jesus name  my sweet brother! with love your baby sister-Mary
