

Raymond Wayne Hicks was born in Eric, Oklahoma May 11, 1928 to Ruby Mae and Herbert Hicks. During the dust bowl, the family moved to California and then to Grants Pass, Oregon. Ray outlived all his siblings, including Opal Todd, Alvin Hicks, Wilda Close, Wonda Miller and Bill Hicks. Through his first marriage, he had three daughters; Carol Scott, Diane Daugert and Barbara (Terry) Delo. In 1957, he married Mary Ellen Standen and they had two daughters; Debra Mullins and Donna (Tim) Lattin. Ray's livelihood was driving commercial trucks. He bought his first Semi Truck in 1945 at the age of 17. The majority of his driving was hauling freight over the Alaska Canada Highway for CF and Lynden Transport, Inc. He retired in 1992. He enjoyed spending Time with family and friends and hosted many gatherings at their home, including annual Sefair barbecues, family reunions and holiday celebrations. Ray was a very loving and generous father and grandfather who will be dearly missed by all. He is greatly loved and respected by so many who remember the sweet, caring, and playful personality he had. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; Michael Edward Hunt, Ann Marie Hunt, Monica Rohn, Joey Zuniga, Katherine Delo-Jones, Tiffany Hoerauf, Travis Lattin, Sunshine Mullins, Loren Mullins Jr., and eight great grandchildren.
