Bob was born in Chehalis, Washington to John and Ruth Alden on December 8, 1940. He graduated from Fife High School in 1959, where he was very active in the Future Farmers of America. He married Marcella Alden in November of 1959 and together they had two daughters. In July of 1989 he married Christy and instantly gained two additional children. In his lifetime, Bob worked construction with his father, was a delivery man for UPS, was a fieldman, and was operations manager for United Theaters. After retiring from United, Bob worked in the advertising department as a driver for the News Tribune.
Bob lived most of his life in the Pacific Northwest where he enjoyed all it had to offer, especially fishing, camping, and road trips. If you knew Bob, you knew he was a huge Seahawks fan. He has had his season tickets from the start! When Bob retired you could find him most weekends at their vacation home near Long Beach, where his brother’s family has a home right across the street. Bob and Christy have spent the last several years traveling with family and friends. He especially enjoyed cruising and loved his trips through the Panama Canal, the Caribbean, the Mexican Riviera and his most recent voyage to Hawaii, just 3 months ago. He was always looking for the next big vacation. Bob was a very loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He will be deeply missed.
Bob is preceded in death by his father John and mother Ruth Alden, and grandparents John and Mable Russell.
Bob is survived by wife Christy; daughters Kathy, Lori (Brad), and Mary (Jeff); son Dallas (Amanda); brother John (Sharon); nephews Kyle (Carolee) and Steve; grandchildren, Chad (Lindsey), Jordan (Spencer), Chloe, Justin, Anders, Lucas and Jack; great grandchildren Jordan, Zacky and Kamryn.
