Anita Agnant

Le lundi 9 janvier 2023, Anita Agnant, mère de six enfants, quatorze petits-enfants et deux arrière-petits-enfants, est décédée à l'âge de 86 ans. Elle est née le 29 novembre 1936 à Mont-Rouis, Haïti. Nestorius Agnant, Le défunt père d'Anita était un agriculteur et sa défunte mère, Lucilia Nelson, était propriétaire d'un restaurant. Dés son enfance, voyant sa me’re travaillait, elle a développé une passion et amour pour la cuisine. Adulte, Anita a ouvert un restaurant, qui etait très populaire à Mont Rouis. Tout le monde en parlait parceque la nourriture était tres excellente. A part du restaurant, Anita était une femme exceptionnelle, connue pour sa gentillesse, son amour pour les autres et son humour. Le 3 août 1983, Anita a émigré à New York avec deux de ses enfants pour commencer une nouvelle vie avec sa sœur, Aline Galette qui est décédée quelques années apres. Les quatre autres enfants, sont arrivés plus tard le 4 août 1986. Anita a travaillé dans une usine située à New Jersey pendant 16 ans. Anita était une rude travailleuse, elle était aimeé et respectée par tous les gens de son travail, elle était leur chou-chou. Malgré son départ du travail, elle est restée amie et en communication avec certains d'entre eux jusqu’a sa mort. Anita était une femme trés populaire á Mont-Rouis, elle traitait tout le monde comme avec respect. Elle laisse dans le deuil ses six enfants — Pierre, Danielle, Marie-Andrée, Mirlène, Haiston et Natasha, ses quatorze petits-enfants — Jessica, Jeremiah, Kevin, Nathan, Eustacia, Herna, Santasia, Samanta, Abigail, Joshua, Anisha, Gabriela, Haiston Jr. et Laura, ses deux arrière-petits-enfants — Dallas et Wyatt, aux familles Agnant, Eugène, Galette, Noel, Aubry, Charite, Sanon, Cauvin, Cadet, Dort, Saget, Jean, et Saint Phil. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ On Monday, January 9th, 2023, Anita Agnant, a mother of six children, fourteen grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, passed away at 86 years of age. Anita Agnant was born on November 29th, 1936 in Mont-Rouis, Haiti. Nestorius Agnant, Anita’s late father was a farmer and her late mother, Lucilia Nelson was a restaurant owner. As a child, Anita grew up around an abundance of food due to her parent’s businesses which sparked her passion and love for cooking. As an adult, Anita opened a restaurant, which became very popular in Mont-Rouis. Everyone loved the food, but it was not only Anita’s cooking that made her exceptional. She was a people person — kind, supportive and funny. On August 3, 1983, Anita migrated to New York with two of her youngest children to start a new journey here in the United States with her late sister, Aline Galette. The other four children, later arrived on August 4, 1986. Anita made a living by working as a bag stuffer in a factory, located in New Jersey for 16 years. She was a hard worker, who took pride in her relationships in the workplace. Most of her friendships have lasted to now. Anita was a phenomenal woman, who treated everyone like family. She is survived by her six children — Pierre, Danielle, Marie-Andree, Mirlene, Haiston, and Natasha; her fourteen grandchildren — Jessica, Jeremiah, Kevin, Nathan, Eustacia, Herna, Santasia, Samanta, Abigail, Joshua, Anisha, Gabriela, Haiston Jr., and Laura; her two great-grandchildren — Dallas and Wyatt; the Agnant family, Eugene family, Galette family, Noel family, Aubry family, Charite family, Sanon family, Cauvin family, Cadet family, Dort family, Saget family, Jean family, and Saint-Phil family. A visitation for Anita will be held Friday, January 20, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at R. Stutzmann & Son, 224 39 Jamaica Ave, Queens Village, NY 11428. A funeral mass will occur Saturday, January 21, 2023 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at St. Boniface RC Church, 631 Elmont Rd., Elmont, NY 11003. A graveside service will occur Saturday, January 21, 2023 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Charles/Resurrection Cemeteries, 2015 Wellwood Avenue, West Babylon, NY 11735.
