It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Annette Roberts on April 23, 2023. Annette was a beloved wife, stepmother, grandmother, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, godmother and a trusted friend to many. She was 66 years old.
Annette Marie Peropat was born on December 14, 1956, in Jamaica, Queens. She was the daughter of Francis and Rosaria Peropat. Annette was raised in a close-knit family, and she enjoyed any opportunity to spend time with her siblings, Marguerite, Camille, and Frank, as well as her plethora of close friends. She graduated from Queens College where she studied Health Education and Secondary Education, and later completed her Masters in Public Administration at CW Post. Annette was a devoted wife to her husband, Kevin Roberts, whom she married in 1988. She bonded quickly with his children, Sandy, Chris, and Shannon, and would remain close with them and their families for the remainder of her life. She also cared for her nieces, nephews, and godchildren like they were kids of her own.
Annette excelled within her career of medical billing for many years. She loved traveling and experiencing live music. Above all things, Annette had a passion for connecting people. We will miss the relationships that she fostered for all of us. She never forgot anyone, she always checked in with everyone, and she often went out of her way to help others. The support and empathy she provided was unmatched. Her vibrant personality, her thoughtfulness, and her generosity was constant, despite the struggles that she faced in life.
Annette will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. She will have a special place in our hearts forever. We will try to find comfort in knowing that she will be joining her family and friends who have gone before her. We pray that heaven has a spot right on the water for her, just like her family’s house in Hampton Bays that she loved so much. May she rest in peace.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Training Institute for Mental Health, founded by Annette’s father. Please click the donate button under Annette's name. https://www.timh.org/donate
