Bonnie Graduated Cum Laude form Howard University in 1949 with a BA degree in Art Illustration and Design. After a few years in the workforce she met and later married Fred Lowe. That union produced four sons; Darren, Wayne, Allan and Mike.
The family left the Bronx and moved to Hollis, Queens in 1968. Seeking the best educational foundation for her sons Bonnie became active in the Committee for Early Childhood Development/Head Start. In 1971 she became a Board Member. Bonnie served on that Board for the next forty years retiring 2011. In 2013 a ceremony was held to celebrate her forty years of service and the teachers lounge was renamed the "Bonnie Lowe Hall."
Fred and Bonnie joined Queens Baptist Church in 1973. She served on the Board of Deacons,Trustees and Missions, as Parish Plan Leader and as At-Large-Leader of the Advisory Council. Bonnie loved this church and her church family.
Bonnie loved to travel, garden, do all kinds of crafts, was quite a card player and bowled in a league.
However, the real joy in her life was talking to and being with friends and family.
Bonnie leaves behind Valentina (sister-in-law), Allan(son), Scharlene (daughterin-law), Mike(son), Melissa (daughter-in-law), Cynthia (daughter-in-law); Angela, Nhychelle and Ahlani (granddaughters); Alexander and Jalen (grandsons); Simone, Rhonda, Debbie and Michelle (nieces); Damon and Eugene (nephews), Evelyn, George, Nadine, Dolores, Shirley and Rita(cousins). Audrey (adopted daughter); Zora, Mikhaela, Allyna, Allaina (a-granddaughters); Isaiah and Elijah (a-grandsons). And a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, adopted children and grandchildren and friends. And her church family.
