Dr. Wang was born on November 1st, 1936 in Feng County, Jiangsu Province, China. He was the fourth child out of six in his family with three older brothers, one younger brother and one younger sister. In 1949, when he was only 12 years old, he left his family and home with his cousin, Ming, to escape the Civil War in China. They went south climbing steep mountains and crossing treacherous rivers on foot, narrowly escaping death many times. They eventually met friends from the Shandong School, and together they made their way to Penghu Island, off the coast of Taiwan, and then three years later moved to the main island to attend the Yuan-Lin Middle School in Chang-Hua, Taiwan.
Dr. Wang later joined the Taiwanese military and attended Military Medical College, where he studied for seven years, and later served in the army for ten years. After leaving military service, he met the love of his life, Ming-Ju Lee, during the last year of his medical internship. After completing his medical training, he was assigned to a military hospital on Kinmen island, and had to wait another year before returning to Taiwan to get married in 1963. Dr. Wang and his wife after having a son and two daughters began to put his long term plan for immigrating to the United States into motion. Hence, Dr. Wang moved to New York City in 1973 to begin three years of intense training to obtain a US doctor's license, which he received in 1980, and that's when he officially began his medical practice and opened an office in Chinatown, Manhattan.
Despite achieving career and business success through many years of hard work, Dr. Wang still felt empty and desired something more meaningful in his life. Coincidentally, a few years later, he bumped into a middle-school classmate who preached the gospel to him and left a deep impression. However, it wasn't until one night in 1986 when he accidentally found his bible in the basement of his house. He had received this bible when he was still in medical college in Taiwan, and he had studied English with some Christians. When he opened that bible, it was opened directly to John Chapter 3, Verse 16 - For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Dr. Wang was so touched by those words that he accepted the Lord Jesus in that moment, and devoted the rest of his life to serving Him.
Dr. Wang is survived by his wife, Ming-Ju Wang; children Dale Wang, Jennifer Lee and Wendy Wang Niles; grandchildren Marisa Lee, Patricia Wang, Brendan Niles and Katelyn Niles.
