Grandfather,

It is not only out of respect that I call you grandfather, but because that is who you are to me. You have showed Riaz & myself a Christ-filled love and a kindness that we will never forget. 

Thank you for the laughter, the advice, the inspiration, and the motivation. You are a force to be reckoned with, and you will always hold a special place in our hearts. 

On behalf of my immediate and extended family, we want to express our sincerest condolences to the entire family of Grandfather. And know that we are praying for peace and comfort.

Dearest Grandfather, 

I’ve been sitting here thinking of what to say - but just like everyone I’m at a loss of words. Seeing how peaceful and handsome you looked today made me realize how you would want us all to continue to live a happy and peaceful life. 

My dearest memory and most favorite memory of you is when you and grandmother came to live with us in Chicago. We had such a fun time in the summer and being outside. You used to tutor me and my cousins while grandmother would make her famous dumpling soup. We used to sit outside with the neighbors and talk and laugh for days. You met so many people in Chicago and they will always remember you livelihood, your dancing and singing. Oh man, your dancing and singing brought joy to us. You were such a charmer, grandfather. 

I will miss your birthday cards, holiday cards and visiting you in NY. Staying with you grandfather- you would make sure we were comfortable, fed and enjoying our time. 

You’ve left us with memories, love and hope. You may be physically gone but you will never be forgotten. Please watch over us... watch over your kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews, cousins, in laws and etc. you are our angel ❤️

Dad Eulogy from :Desmond 

My loving father, mentor, friend, protector has now departed this world to be with mum,Sis,Ray&Len and his maker. He mourned their passing everyday in addition to his other close family members who died. 

I loved the daily chats we had which was my highlight and soothed my troubles when needed. He had so much care for his loved ones and enquired daily as to their welfare. 

Dad has been a guiding light to all those who seeked his guidance &help. His life has been a great innings which promised so much and delivered breathtaking longevity tinged with family bereavements which he took in his stride.

Forever grateful in love, appreciation 💓 and  your eternal thoughts. My special thanks& our family eternal gratitude to his guardian angel grand daughter Vanessa who was his constant companion, carer ,mentor throughout the ravages of the pandemic. Her loving care granted an additional lease of life to dad for our benefit in addition to the Ray &Len's doting family and his Samantha. Nafeezah & Valiamah were always there as loving support. 

In closing, I say simply Dad I love you and you would understand our absence from your day of ascension in these extraordinary times.
I am struggling and am at a loss in trying to survive the "grand survivor". You will never walk alone my dad.

We love you eternally :-your son Desmond&Phyllis, Grandson Ray ,wife Talisa and daughters Arianna & Arabella. Grandson Mark,wife Ave and daughter Penelope . 

His surviving children Bobby, Dolly, Pinky and all his grandchildren and great grand children.

To Bobby, Desmond, Pinky , Dolly , grandchildren and all other relatives. On behalf of my family I would like to extend our heartfelt sympathy to you all on losing your loved one. It was a privilege to meet Uncle Polo once in England and a few times in New York. He was such a warm and hospitable person and a person of a great character. I was looking forward to meeting him the next time I visit New York, but I guess God had other plans for him and he is in a better place now. Rest in peace. You will be greatly missed.

To Mr. Khan a.k.a Grandfather,

I am laying here with my eyes open, thinking of all the beautiful memories you blessed my self, Mom and Riaz with.

Memories that includes traveling up to East Coast to visit you and Grandmother, these times I really looked forward too as a young child (mainly so I can watch TV).

The family dinners on the large table next to the kitchen, where many dishes were on the menu (Chicken curry with  brown rice, Chow Mein and lots more) enough food to keep a child filled for days. The beautiful garden with the stream, where you would sit on your wooden stool and cleans the weed around the plants, and the many fruits trees Riaz and I would climb (ginip, mango and guava tree), and the beautiful Hibiscus plants and the metal gate to enter. 

The fond  memory, when Riaz and I stayed over for a few weeks, during mom's operation in Georgetown, you enrolled us into school you previously were a Head Master at, this showed how important education was for you, even for a few weeks we still had to take our books. 

We would wake up and watch the West Indies at 2am while Riaz and Grandmother slept.

When Grandmother made tamarind ball on the front stairs after Riaz and I picked the tamarind from the neighbour's tree.

The many times we would take the bike  to have aired filled in both tires at the road end and Saturdays we would go to the church and clean the flower beds and have things I order for Sunday's service.  

All the times you provided us to buy school clothes to attend school for the start of the semester. 

These memories along with you Grandfather I will hold dear to my Heart.

I only wished you lived to a billion years and more, because you are one of a kind man, with one of a kind personality that could never be imitated. 

Today, days, weeks and years, it would still be tough to comprehend you are no here with us.

Forever Blessed to call you Grandfather, (I leave a comma because there's many more to be written)

You will still be the master in your next school beyond, sir.

My sincere condolences to the family. Uncle was a friend of my dad and his brothers who were all principals. Desmond is like a brother of mine through the years of knowing each other.  There are days when I'm with des I spoke to uncle reminiscing the good days he had with my dad and uncles.  With a heavy heart there are not words which can explain the emptiness I feel. May his soul rest in peace.  You will forever be missed and your memories will live on in my heart. 

Our dad made a huge impact on the lives of many people, both in Guyana and New York. He was a retired Headteacher and an active member of the Lutheran Church. He was blessed and lived life to the fullest. Together with our late Mum, they gave us a comfortable life. He leaves a legacy and love for all that will be remembered forever for his engaging smile, warm personality and enduring wisdom. RIP Dad.

Dear Dad, 

As you sadly ascend to be with your beloved maker, mum and your children sister ,ray&len. I salute you for your love ,care, guidance,longevity and monumental presence. 

You have touched every person who have crossed your path with your help,wisdom and love.

Whilst we are not prepared for your sudden passing ,our thanks to you is eternal.I will miss our daily chats and know that you are overlooking us from above.
