Tante Rita was a true blessing from God, an amazing woman with a beautiful heart.  May you find comfort in the many wonderful memories you've shared.

J' avais du mal à croire que la mort existait, jusqu'à  jour où je t'ai perdu ,au fond de moi, c'est comme si tu étais toujours là. Tout ce que je suis , tout ce que j'ai appris son bien de toi. Un merci est toujours insuffisant pour une Tante comme toi.  Je te souhaite un grand voyage et que la terre te soit légère.
Mon amour a toi sera toujours incommensurable.

I always remember Mrs Mars cooking. This is one thing I will never forget. Everyday ringing Horem's doorbell and asking him yo what your mom cook? She took us from the block of 58th in like we was her own. Mrs Mars was always fun to talk to and always had jokes. Such a caring and loving person I am crying right now just thinking about all the time we spent together. She basically raised me. We lost a good person on earth but God gained an amazing angel.

Tatie Rita, I will miss you greatly.  Thank you for all you did for us.  You loved us as your own children.  Your motherly role never ceased even after we departed Haiti.  Death is never easy to accept.  You let us know that you were spiritually ready.  “I heard a voice touring the room from up saying Eternel est Grand, and I answered Oui, Eternel est Grand” (Feb 25 12:18 P.M. – Group 11)
In your final months, you insisted on the group chat.  Thank you for preparing us for the day when we will say Good-Bye to you.  After your first trip to the hospital, you told me “Be Strong, Miche.”  You knew the pain would be hard for me since my mother’s one year Anniversary of the death just passed.  You were all about Love and Family.  You love your family dearly.  The family reunion brought great joy to you from planning to the celebration.
The following quote from you will live in me forever. “I feel happy because I have God in my life, and I have you all who show me a lot of affection and love.  What else more to expect on this earth?  Love you all; Stay United.  Believe more in God; Love your brothers and sisters as ordered by Jesus.  That’s the most important.” (March 25 9:44 A.M. – Group 11)

Rita Jasmin, my aunt, my god mother, and a mother to all of us. I remember growing up in Grande Rivière du Nord and you were responsible for my father’s children, ton Loulou’s children, and tante Anne’s children. I appreciate the memories of celebrating holidays, birthdays, and first communions with you. I remember the Saint Rose de Lima parties and these moments were so precious to us. I will always remember who you were. I will always appreciate how much you loved us unconditionally. You were always a listening ear and you always taught us not to criticize others. 

I am assured that you are having a happy life where you are now. Your mother, father, sisters, and brothers who left before you are now welcoming you.

I will never forget our life together.

I know that our beloved Tante Rita will be missed but the great news is that she will be greatly welcome in the Heavenly kingdom of God. She was a woman of prayer . So  she will be added among all our faithful departed who are unceasingly praying for us in Heaven.  I promise that I will never forget her in all my  Eucharistic celebrations. May her soul and the souls of all our departed brothers and sisters Rest In Peace through the mercy of God.

La nouvelle de ta mort m’a abasourdi. Tu t’en vas, tu me laisses de beaux souvenirs: rassemblement de tous tes filleuls (les) chez toi chaque dimanche . Tendre, affectueuse , généreuse marraine .Tu étais impatiente de lire mon œuvre ‘’Plezi kreyòl ‘’, tu me l’as fait savoir, j’ai dû faire rapidement le nécessaire. Heureusement ton nom est gravé dans la réédition, ouf de soulagement. Adieu mon rêve le plus cher, je ne te reverrai plus. Ma cousine, ma marraine -mère n’est plus, je n’ai plus de repaire . Bonne traversée , nennenn Rita !

My dear Tante Rita I miss you immensely. I am going to miss our daily talks especially when you talk to me through my commute making sure that I don’t fall asleep on the road. Our little “ I have a little zen for you”. Thank you for all that you have done for me.
