

Corinne (Miller) Mikami, 66, of Braintree, passed away from leukemia on May 17, 2024 surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Darryl, and her children: Kyle and his wife Rebecca Hoover of Braintree; Kendra and her husband Scott MacGrath of Cambridge; and Kaleb, M.D. of Charlotte NC. Corinne also leaves her beloved grandson Ethan. She leaves her sisters, Barbara Ferreira and Elizabeth Parrish, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Vivian Miller, her sister Linda, and her daughter Kara (d. 1987).
Corinne grew up in East Bridgewater and Quincy. She graduated from Quincy High School in 1975 and from Quincy College in 1977. Corinne met her husband at Bethany Congregational Church as children and they began dating as teenagers. They married in 1983 and settled in Braintree where they raised their family. Before having children, Corinne was a legal secretary for several Boston law firms and was noted for her typing ability of 100 words per minute even years later.
In her free time, Corinne loved bowling, reading sappy romance novels, watching sitcoms, planning her next meal out, and having her hair and nails done. She was a devoted member of many church and school committees. Corinne had many friends and never forgot a birthday or important date. A beach lover, she appeared as an extra in the film Jaws.
A celebration of Corinne’s life will be held on Saturday, June 15, at The First Church, 17 Church St., Weymouth MA at 10 AM. In honor of Corinne, guests are encouraged to wear bright colors and to be kind. In lieu of flowers, donations in Corinne’s memory may be made to the Expect Miracles Foundation which directly supports the Dana Farber Cancer Institute at expectmiraclesfoundation.org.
