Madeline M Karpowicz Massey

Madeline M. (Karpowicz) Massey, "Peggy", of Weymouth, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2012 at the age of 97. Born and raised in Cambridge, Madeline lived in Quincy for 66 years before moving to Weymouth 6 years ago. She was the beloved wife of 55 years of the late Harry F. Massey Sr. and devoted mother of Harry F. Massey Jr. and his wife Rose of Weymouth, Kenneth Massey of Randolph , Gail Costales and her fiancée Bob Krim of Weymouth, and the late Cindy Clifford of Quincy. Loving grandmother of 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her bother Peter Karpowicz of Rhode Island and was the sister of the late William and James Karpowicz. She also left behind many nieces and nephews. Madeline worked for many years as a clerk in the Squantum Pharmacy. An avid reader, Madeline also loved sewing and cooking, especially baking Christmas cookies with her granddaughter Melissa. She will be buried alongside her husband, Harry, at the National Veterans Cemetery in Bourne where there will be a private graveside and memorial service.
