

Mr. James Lacy Garner of 609 East 3rd Avenue, Red Springs, died Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at Southeastern Hospice House at the age of 91. Mr. Garner was born in Robeson County on May 1, 1920, to the late Bradley and Bettie Lambert Garner. He served in the US Air Force during WWII. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Red Springs, where he served as deacon and taught Sunday School in the childrens department. Mr. Garner retired from Milliken, Red Springs Mill as Personnel Manager in 1981. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Grace Garner of Red Springs, NC; a daughter, Elaine G. Chaney and her husband James of Winter Springs, FL.: a son Lyn Garner and his wife Judy of Lumberton; a brother, Winfred Garner of Manchester, CT.: four grandchildren, Cindy Stenger and her husband Dan of Orlando, FL., Lee Chaney and his wife Samantha of Riverview, FL., Jedidiah Gant and his wife Stacy of Raleigh, NC., Lyndsey Garner of Lumberton, NC.: four great grandchildren, Danny Stenger, Carter Chaney, Cooper Chaney and Oliver Gant. Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 7:30 pm on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at Crumpler Funeral Home in Red Springs. Graveside services will be held 11:00 am Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Alloway Cemetery in Red Springs with Reverend Bradley Boberg officiating.
