Louise Smith Smith McDiarmid

Mrs. Louise Smith McDiarmid of 4200 Red Springs Road, died Friday, May 6, 2011 at FirsthHealth Moore Regional Hospital at the age of 85. Mrs. McDiarmid was born in Hoke County on February 5, 1926, to the late David Alexander Smith and Nancy Nora Bell Owenby Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Archie McDiarmid. She was a member of the Raeford Presbyterian Church and was retired as a Librarian with the Hoke County Library. She is survived by her son, John Charles McDiarmid and his wife Wanda of Raeford; One daughter, Toni Lynne Newton and her husband Charles of Raeford; One sister Evelyn Kelly of San Antonia, Tx. Five grandchildren, Danny, Kenny, Amy, Chris and Leighan; Six Great Grandchildren, Hannah, Megan, Christian, Mason, Jillian and Westin. The family will receive relatives and friends between the hours of 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm Monday, May 9, 2011 at the Raeford Presbyterian Church, John C. Ropp Fellowship Hall. Funeral Service will be held 2:30 pm Monday, May 9, 2011 at Raeford Presbyterian Church with Reverend Mark Fisher Officiating. Burial will be in the Raeford Cemetery.
