He was born in Hoke County, NC on January 22, 1937 to the late Chester and Lillian Wade.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Wade.
Jim retired with the Army National Guard after twenty years. He was a founding member of the Hoke County Rescue Squad and served for thirty years. He also worked for the Fayetteville Observer for forty two years.
He is survived by his daughter, Julie Anette Wade Crawford; his son in law, Robert O. Crawford, of Raeford, NC; his granddaughter, Tiffany Jean Crawford, of San Antonio, Texas; his sister, Lavinia Wade Patterson, of Raeford, NC; his great grandson, Jackson; and his nephew, William Patterson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hoke County Rescue Squad.
A graveside memorial service will be announced.
