Mary Bosworth Strang

Mrs. Mary Bosworth Strang, died Thursday, March 17, 2011, in Palm Terrace Nursing Center, in Riverside at the age of 84. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Sallie Bosworth; a brother, Ollie Bosworth; her husband, Richard 'Dick' Strang; and a son, Gerald Strang. She was secretary at El Camino College in Torrance for many years. She volunteered as a tax preparer at the Florence Sylvester Senior Center and was an active member of the Eastern Star, serving as a Past Worth Matron of her chapter. Mary enjoyed reading, and will be remembered for her gentle acts of kindness. Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Haddad of Hobbs, N.M.; a granddaughter, Jessica Heberlein of Hobbs; and a grandson, Michael Henry of Crescent City, CA. She is also survived by her sisters, Marjorie Bosworth of Aberdeen, N.C., Polly Wood and her husband, C.S. 'Skip', of Dearborn, Mich., and her brother, Ray Bosworth and his wife, Frances, of Aberdeen. Mary had a deep love for her many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be at 7p.m., Tuesday, March 29, 2011, in the chapel of First Baptist Church in Aberdeen. A private burial service will take place at Doubs Chapel Church cemetery in West End, N.C. The Revs. C.S. 'Skip' Wood and Mike Branscome will officiate the services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Aberdeen First Baptist Church, Building Fund, 700 N. Sandhills Blvd., Aberdeen, NC 28315.
