Roy David Chason

Roy was born in Hoke County on August 20, 1952, to the late David A. Chason and Dora Elizabeth McDaniels Chason. He was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Wanda Fay Crawford Orem Suggs, and Robert Lee Orem, Sr. He was a graduate of Carolina Bible College and became an ordained minister. Roy was an active member of Southview Baptist Church where he served as Chairman of the Board of Deacons. He was a long time Bible teacher and knew the Bible in depth and taught numerous classes at Southview Baptist Church on "How to Study the Bible ".   He always looked forward to teaching VBS each year and will be greatly missed by the whole congregation at Southview. He completed The Emmaus Walk. Roy was a Construction Superintendent for Ellis-Walker Builders and Player Construction. He was there for his family anytime that they needed him and was a beloved husband and father. Roy was an avid Tarheel fan, gardener, and loved playing his guitar.

He is survived by his wife of thirty-three years, Teresa Diane Orem Chason of Hoke County, NC; two daughters, Kristen Faye Chason of Fayetteville, NC and Elizabeth Lee Chason of Fayetteville, NC., and many beloved cousins too numerous to name.

Visitation will be held from 7:00 until 9:00 pm Saturday October 2, 2021, at Crumpler Funeral Home, 131 Harris Ave. Raeford NC.

Funeral service will be held 3:00 pm Sunday October 3, 2021, Southview Baptist Church, 4089 Elk Road, Hope Mills with Pastor Brad Lynch officiating.

Burial will be in the Chason Family Cemetery, 1615 Chason Road in Hoke County.
