

Mrs. Sarah Coxe Leach, of 209 W. Prospect Avenue, died Sunday, November 27, 2011 in her home at the age of 80. Mrs. Leach was born on February 11, 1931 in Horry County, SC to the late Lena Baxley and Earl Robert Coxe, Sr., and is preceded in death by her husband, Alfred K. Leach, Sr.. She was a member of Antioch Presbyterian Church where she served as Elder, and received the Life Membership of the Presbyterian Women. She was a board member of numerous organizations which included Hoke County Farm Bureau and Farm Chemicals, Inc. She was the past president and long term member of the Raeford Womans Club. Mrs. Leach was the proprietor of the Baker House and was a member of the Raeford Downtown Revitalization Commission. Mrs. Leach graduated from Meredith College in 1953. Survivors include a son, Alfred K. "Dooie" Leach, Jr. and wife Leah of Raeford, NC; three daughters, Deborah L. Balltrip and husband Steve of Spartanburg, SC, Katharine L. Hunter and husband Tim of Henderson, NC, and Ginny L. Lenaeus and husband Nick of Cary, NC; two sisters, Mary C. Bullock and husband George of New Bern, NC, and Millie C. McNeill and husband Bob of Laurel Hill, NC; 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. The family will receive relatives and friends between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00 PM, Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at Crumpler Funeral Home, 131 Harris Avenue, Raeford, NC 28376. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at Antioch Presbyterian Church, 6582 Red Springs Road, Red Springs, NC 28377 with Reverend Michael McGehee officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
