

Mrs. Sharon Annette Phillips of Red Springs, died Friday, November 21, 2015 at the age of 49. Sharon was born July 30, 1966 in Moore County. She was preceded in death by her father Mack Melton. Sharon received her teaching degree from Bob Jones University. She taught school for many years until her health declined and she had to retire. She was a talented soloist, and for many years she shared her love of music with her friends and church family. She sang in the choir at First Baptist Church and enjoyed the fellowship. Sharon is survived by her husband Gary Phillips of Red Springs, her mother Frances Melton of Elizabethtown, sister, Angela M. Sternthal and her husband (Thomas) of Bladenboro, brother, Scott Melton and wife Jennifer of Lumberton, 3 nieces, Olivia and Emilee Johnson, and Ava Melton, nephew, Aiden Melton, a special aunt and uncle Martha and John Seago of Red Springs. Services will be held, Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at First Baptist Church Red Springs , 701 East 4th Ave. Red Springs, with the visitation from 12:30 to 2:00pm. Funeral service will begin at 2:00pm, with Reverend Bradley Boberg officiating. Interment will be in Alloway Cemetery Red Springs. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Sharons honor, may be made to, The First Baptist Church Red Springs.
