Alaric “Larry” Bruce Leonard, 61, of Raleigh, NC, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2024, at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh. He was born on March 4, 1963, in Memphis, TN to the late Bruce Gill Leonard and Janie Carol Sigmon Leonard, both of Catawba County, NC.
He is survived by his sister, Lisa Carlay (Mark) and brother, Andrew Leonard (Angie). He is also survived by nephews, Nicholas Carlay, Ried Leonard, Evan Leonard and niece, Casey Carlay. Additionally, he had many cousins in NC and TX, including David Leonard, who was like a brother to him. He was a devoted and loving sibling, uncle and friend to many.
Larry was a professional disc golfer for many years, achieving high rankings and accolades. He was known to be one of the best putters in the world. He had recently moved to Wake Forest, NC, and loved spending time with family and friends and working in his garden and yard. We could not complete this obituary without mentioning his lifelong love of the Duke Blue Devils.
