Alex “Al” MacDonald Brommer, 29, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday morning, July 1, 2018. Born on March 19, 1989 in Cleveland, Ohio; he was the loving son of Daniel (Mason) Brommer and his wife Susan. Al is a graduate from Sanderson High School in Raleigh. Known for his abilities as an athlete, he and his family enjoyed all of the friends made during his years on the travel baseball teams. Al went on to graduate East Carolina University and was presently working as a Surgical Assistant at Duke Raleigh Hospital.
He is survived by his parents; brothers: Kurt, his wife Jennifer, and Eric, his fiancé Megan; grandmother: Barbara MacDonald; great-uncle: John MacDonald; aunts and uncles: Anita Brommer, Steve Brommer, Dan and Diana MacDonald, Laura and Ron Mills; cousins: Jeremy and Crystal Brommer and their children Eve and Caleb, D.J. and Liz MacDonald and Sam Mills; and his close knit friends from his youth; and by his true companions: Ruby, his pit-bull mix and Maggie, the basset hound.
Al was preceded in death by his grandfather: Donald MacDonald and grandparents: Kurt and Tilly Brommer.
Al will be remembered for his infectious smile, his innate sense of humor, love and loyalty to friends and family and an overall just an amazing heart!
A Service Celebrating Al’s Life will be held on Friday, July 6, 2018 at 4 pm at Mitchell Funeral Home, with family to receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his memory are preferred to the SPCA of Wake County.
