

\Born February 14, 1925 in Rochester, N. Y. , to the late George P. and Ruth D. Geoghegan. She moved to Greensboro, N.C. as a child when her father was hired by the Vicks Chemical Company. The family moved to Raleigh in the 1940’s when her father accepted a position with Wachovia Bank. Mr. Geoghegan was later head of the Raleigh office for Wachovia.
Ann was a loving and kind mother and grandmother , and was known for her great sense of humor and her love of life and family.
Ann was married to Sydnor Montgomery White until his death in 1994. He was president and owner of Motor Bearings and Parts Co. She is survived by three children ; Sydnor Montgomery White, Jr. , Patricia White Copeland and William McClanahan White and six grandchildren, Patrick Young, Annie Combs, Anna White, Syndey Lewis, Leila White, and William White.
In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her grandson, Sackett White.
Ann was an active member of White Memorial Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday School for several years, and was also an avid tennis player. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Raleigh, N.C. , attended Hollins College in Roanoke, Virginia, and graduated from UNC Chapel Hill. She was also a member of the Junior League of Raleigh serving as president in the 1950’s.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 23, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at White Memorial Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends following the service in the Jane Bell Gathering Space at White Memorial. Burial will be private at Oakwood Cemetery.
