Anne Xouris, 86, transitioned peacefully at her daughter’s home in VA the morning of April 22, 2024. Anne is reuniting in spirit with her late husband, Evangelos Xouris. She was a loving mother to her children (John and Maria, George and Andia, and Kristine and Paul), devoted Yiayia to her grandchildren (Peter and Megan, Michael, Dina and Kenny, James and Maria, Gregory, Alyssa and Daniel, and Alexander), and the world’s proudest Yiayia-Yiayia to her great-grandchildren (Ellena, Gianna, Evan, and two more on the way). Anne passed surrounded by her family, just as she prayed she would.
Born and raised in New York, Anne's life was a testament to love and faith. She was a pillar of strength and compassion, leaving a mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Anne's love for travel knew no bounds, and she instilled this wanderlust in her family from a young age. Her tenure at Eastern Airlines not only fueled her own adventures but also enabled countless cherished memories over the years for her children.
From evenings spent watching Hallmark movies to lively games of Mahjong, Anne cherished every moment spent with her family and friends. Anne was the epitome of tech-savvy, effortlessly navigating Venmo transactions and Instagram messages well into her eighties.
Despite physical limitations, Anne's dedication to her faith remained unwavering. She attended church services faithfully, even if it meant participating from the comfort of her home via her iPad, where she eagerly picked out familiar faces in the congregation.
Above all, Anne cherished her family. Her bond with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was a source of immeasurable joy. Her unwavering faith was the cornerstone of her life, evident in her daily prayers of gratitude and compassion for all.
Anne Xouris will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her memory will live on in the countless lives she touched with her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love.
