Betty Ellen Lloyd Gooch, 70, passed away June 18, 2016 in her home, Abbotswood at Stonehenge in Raleigh after several months of declining health. Born in Durham, NC she grew up in the Nelson Community, graduated from Charles E. Jordan High School, and then worked as an EKG technician at Rex Hospital before becoming a state employee at North Carolina Community Colleges. Betty retired in 2001.
Preceded in death by her husband Joseph Gooch, she is survived by her mother Marguerite Green Lloyd of Abbotswood at Stonehenge and by her stepson Andy Andrews and his wife Christina of Philadelphia, PA.
The family will receive visitors from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on June 21, 2016 at Mitchell Funeral Home, with a graveside service to follow immediately at the adjacent Raleigh Memorial Park. Rev. Ron Zedick will officiate the service.
