

Our beloved brother Brian Paul Carle, 55, passed away quietly in his home in Denver, N.C. on August 4, 2017, after a long battle with illness. He was born Jan. 24th, 1962 in Johnson City, New York, to the late Kenneth V. Carle and Florence A. Carle. Brian graduated from Athens Drive High School, Raleigh, N.C. and attended East Carolina State University. He was a construction field manager and built many multi-family dwelling complexes in the South East United States.
He lived an adventuresome life and became a delightful, and colorful storyteller. His interests were varied, and included boating, water skiing, Karate, and collecting antique beer cans. He was an excellent cook and took pride in cooking for friends and family. He never stopped learning and taught himself to be fluent in Spanish. He was a gifted artist and worked in photography, drawing and poetry.
Brian was an avid Dallas Cowboy’s fan and never missed a game. His Dallas Cowboy knowledge was encyclopedic. He loved watching NASCAR races and he followed several drivers. He was an avid golfer and competed with some success in local amateur tournaments, winning two. He had two “holes-in-one” during his life. He loved Eagle Crest golf course and Reedy Creek golf course.
He dearly loved his family and was in contact with them daily. He loved his Border Collies, “Zack” and “Banjo”, with whom he had an amazing relationship. He is survived by his beloved dog, “Banjo”, his brothers Terry K. Carle and wife Susan, of Johnson City, Tennessee, Eric S. Carle and wife Catherine of Terry town, La., Kevin Carle of New London, N.C., William Carle and wife Debbie of Pahrump, NV., and his sisters Mary S. Pengelly of Raleigh, N.C. and Amy Beth Spann and husband, Christopher of Hampstead, N.C. He is also survived by nephews Kevin Carle, Portland, Oregon, Eric Carle Jr., New Orleans, La., Christopher Carle, Knoxville, Tennessee, David Carle Johnson City, Tennessee, Jarrett Spann Greenville, N.C., Jackson Spann, Wilmington, N.C. and niece Kelly Carle, Terry town, Louisiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister-in-law, Grey Gamewell Carle; brother-in-law, Wayne Pengelly, and his niece, RaeJean Carle.
Family and friends will meet for a Memorial Remembrance Service on Sept. 9th, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Mitchell Funeral Home - 7209 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, N.C. 27612.
