Christopher P. Kosmos, age 18, of Angier, NC, died as the result of an accident Monday morning, March 29, 2010 on Steel Bridge Road near Clayton, NC. His girlfriend Alissa Chenette, whom Christopher was driving to school, also died in the accident.
Christopher was born on February 1, 1992 in Raleigh, NC to Bradley J. and Cynthia (Fuller) Kosmos. He has lived with his family in Angier all of his life.
Christopher started his education at McGee’s Elementary. After a while his mother Cynthia, wanting more personal attention given to his education, home schooled Christopher. He then attended McGee’s Middle School beginning in seventh grade until becoming a freshman at West Johnston High School in Benson.
He was now a senior at West Johnston High School. He was a musician in the high school band where he played tuba. Christopher marched with his band mates in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade in New York City two years ago creating what would have been a lifelong memory. Also in high school he was an office assistant last semester in the high school office where he became a favorite with teachers and staff. Christopher was a beloved friend to many classmates.
Christopher’s main passion in his life was his relationship with and love for Alissa and their child whom she was pregnant with.
But another strong passion and love for Christopher was of the outdoors. He was a dedicated King fisherman. He would sleep on the pier all night with the Atlantic Ocean lulling him to sleep so that he was first to fish in the next morning’s light! He also loved to hunt. Deer hunting was a favorite and he was ready for turkey season to begin. His mother remembered him excitedly telling her “Do you smell that Mom? It’s deer! Tasty!” . The smell was of fresh rubbed dirt which Christopher the skilled hunter knew meant the deer had been rutting in their yard!
He is survived by his loving family, his mother Cynthia Fuller Kosmos of Angier, his father and step-mother Bradley J. and Melissa Kosmos of Erwin, NC, his brother Tyler Kosmos at home in Angier, his step-brother Hunter at home in Erwin, his maternal grandmother Kathy Fuller of Angier, his paternal grandparents Paul and Valerie Kosmos of Youngsville, NC, and aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his beloved and loving grandfather Richard C. Fuller in 1999.
