It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Debora Lynn Johnson, a loving wife, devoted daughter, and cherished sister, who left us on July 17, 2025, at the age of 66, following a courageous and extended battle with Glioblastoma brain cancer.
Born in Naicam, Saskatchewan, Deb exemplified kindness and selflessness, always placing others before herself. She was a dedicated member of her community, finding deep joy in volunteering at church, fostering lasting friendships, and sharing her unwavering love for people—and puppies alike. Her laughter and vibrant spirit brightened the lives of all who knew her. Deb retired from IBM in 2019, after a long and successful career spanning several decades. She resided in Raleigh, North Carolina, where she continued to touch lives with warmth and grace.
Deb is survived by her beloved husband of 29 years, Al Love of Raleigh, NC; her mother, Donna Johnson; her sister, Patty Brehon; and nieces Kayla and Kassandra Brehon, all of Calgary, AB. She was predeceased by her father, Ronald Johnson.
A funeral service will be held at Ridge Road Baptist Church on August 2, 2025, at 2:00 PM, with a reception to follow. Deb’s ashes, along with those of her three beloved dogs—Quincy, Monty, and Riley—will be interred in both Naicam, Saskatchewan, and Hickory, North Carolina. A memorial service in Canada will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the State Employees Credit Union Hospice House in Smithfield, NC, in recognition of their exceptional kindness and compassion during the final days of Deb’s life.
Vaya con Dios, Sweetie.
