Donna R. Baptiste-Hatten

Donna R. Baptiste-Hatten, of Raleigh, was called home on January 25, 2015. Donna was born and raised in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, a place where she still maintains many friendships. She was a graduate of Quaker Valley High School in 1965. As a hard worker, she helped to pave the way for professional women in the workplace. She retired after 30 years working with IBM.

Donna was a patient and caring person who always gave unconditional love. She enjoyed hosting family and friends in her home and always made sure everyone enjoyed themselves. She loved to laugh and have a good time. Not only did she greatly enjoy music but she also loved the performing arts. Donna often delighted in the opportunity to attend a good show.

Donna is survived by her loving husband, Joseph C. Hatten of Raleigh; children, Scott J. Baptiste (Stacey L. Baptiste) of Pittsburgh, PA, Mercedes D. Holland (Marcus M. Holland) of Raleigh, NC and Lincoln C. Hatten (Jaslyne Ortega) of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren, Antoni, Marquis, Shyla, Jayleal, Donna-shae, Savian, Leium and Bentley; brothers, James E. Lee of Detroit, MI, Larry B. Lee of Sewickley, PA, John T. Lee of Coraopolis, PA and David S. Lee, of Leetsdale, PA; sisters, Patricia A. Lee of Sewickley, PA; numerous aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and numerous friends. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, James E. Lee, Sr. and Blanche H. Lee; as well as her sister, Linda H. Whitlock.

A visitation will be held on Friday, January 30, 2015, from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Ave., Raleigh, NC. A funeral service will be held at Mitchell Funeral Home on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 11:00am.
