She was born June 25, 1926 to the late Jean Newton and Josephine Deegan Newton. Eleanor grew up with two older sisters in Mt. Vernon, NY. She married James Daniel LaBanca in 1948 and raised two children, a son, James, and a daughter, Linda. She was an avid reader and enjoyed being a homemaker, raising her children. She was ecstatic with the arrival of her two granddaughters Emily and Addy. She was devoted to them both as they were to her.
In addition to her daughter Linda, Eleanor is survived by her granddaughters, Emily and Addy; grandsons, Christopher, Gregory, and Eric; and her niece, Audrey.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and son as well as two sisters.
She was a remarkable woman whose love knew no boundaries. She will be missed but always remembered.
A Graveside Service will be held at a future date, in Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton, NY.
