My Auntie ET was sure a special person! She was a fiery red-head with a very big heart. Many things brought her joy, and I really saw her talents and love come out in her keen decorating eye and love for her pups (I knew Bitsy, Jolie, Lexy, and Maxie). Although she passed before anyone expected, I'm so glad that the physical challenges she dealt with daily are no longer encumbering her beautiful spirit. I'll miss our phone calls, virtual shopping trips, Juke rides to BoJangles, and so much more. She'll live on in my memories and the stories we all share. 🤍 

Ellen was special to us. Her smile and laugh are locked in our memories as she was always happy to see us. She even bought play dough and games so she could play with the kids.  Ellen supported them when they competed in North Carolina and made the time we spent together warm and special.  We admired her miniatures, landscaping, and rock gardens. Her attention to detail was impeccable.  She would explain the reason for placing rocks in certain positions and the struggles to keep the squirrels from eating all the bird seed. We hope your memories and our memories bring you comfort. 

Ellen and I bonded years ago over our love of plants, flowers, dogs, quilts, baskets, antiques & marcasite  jewelry. We shared many lunches together and took a lot of trips to pick up things we bought on Craigslist!  She was such a good listener, always gave great advice and was ready with a warm smile. She helped get me thru my divorce, my move to Durham, and the passing of my mom.   I loved to visit her beautiful home that looked like it belonged in a magazine!  I already miss so many things about this special lady that I was proud to call my friend. Fly with the angels my beautiful friend. Love, Sherry

I feel so lucky to have had an aunt that was always there for me and treated me like her own son. She made a little apartment above her garage for me to come over and have a little “place of my own” growing up. Nothing but compliments and love, she made sure to do whatever she could to build my confidence in my most impressionable years of my life. I can honestly say that my childhood would not have been as great without her - thank you auntie!

My Dear Ellen. We knew each other for 46 years. You were always my favorite Sister-in-Law and a great confidante. As we traveled through life we had our ups and downs but we always work them out. I loved you and I know you loved me too. We talked frequently and I always looked forward to and enjoyed our conversations. May the Lord hold you close and be with you always. I love you and miss you. Until we meet again. Your favorite BIL.

Ellen and I were neighbors and friends in Cary. I had the pleasure of working with her on a committee which she chaired, I admired her leadership, clarity, organization and honesty. 
From that time on we spent many hours chatting over tea and sharing countless stories, I will miss her very much.
