Emma “Amy” Stewart, age 85, passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2012, at her home, with her family by her side. She was born on October 17, 1927, in Luxemburg, to her parents Heinrich and Magdalene Cezanne.
Amy was devoted to her family, which included her beloved pets and local wildlife. She loved to bake and was a cook extraordinary. It was said “you never left her house hungry”. She was very adventurous and taught us all about love and what is most important in life. While she was in Seattle, she loved to take long walks around the trails at Mount Rainier and local trails. Above all she adored her family, dear grandchildren, and precious great-grandchildren.
She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Emil Stewart and Kathy Harris, daughter, Jane Ericksen and her husband Jim, grandchildren, Matthew Stewart and wife Rebecca, their children Madelyn and Chloe, Alexander Stewart and wife Heather and their children Eleanor and Henry, due in early 2013.
Amy was predeceased by her parents, and her loving husband, William Gladstone Stewart.
A Celebration of Amy’s life will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at the Chapel of Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh.
