
Frances Weaver Snow Oddenino, 83, passed away peacefully Saturday Feb. 12, 2011. She was born to the late Horace Creel Weaver and Addie Lee Tappy Weaver on May 16, 1927 in Uno, Virginia. Frances spent most of her life in Arlington, VA, until moving to Raleigh in April 2009.
She graduated from Strayer Business College and then worked at the Pentagon, and also spent two years in Japan as an Army civilian. In 1959, her first husband Bowman Franklin Snow died. Following his sudden death she successfully operated their Dry Cleaning business for the next 35 years. Frances served in and was a past- President of the Virginia Association of Launderers and Cleaners. She was also active with Soroptimist International, and an avid bowler and golfer.
Frances loved life and was a loyal friend to many. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents and first husband, she was preceded in death by her four siblings.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Snow Nicholson and husband Bill of Raleigh; son, Allan S. Oddenino of Alexandria, VA; three grandsons who were her pride and joy, Bowman James Nicholson , William Bateman Nicholson, Jr. , and Henry Gilliam Nicholson II, all of Raleigh; John Oddenino of Arlington, VA; and her brother Kemper Lee Weaver, of Frederick, MD.
The family is indebted to her devoted friends and companions, Fran Norris and Joan Regal, and is profoundly grateful for the loving care, compassion, and support they gave to Frances.
The family would also like to thank the staff of Woodland Terrace for their care of Frances.
A celebration of life is being planned at Saint Andrews Episcopal Church in Arlington, VA.
