Hal Dean Treece

Hal Dean Treece, 81, went to be with the Lord on January 30, 2021. He was born April 4, 1939 in Monroe, Michigan to Homer and Pearl (Revels) Treece. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1958 and later attended Monroe Community College. Hal retired after 33 years from General Motors as a Supervisor.

He played softball and baseball through his 50’s and 60’s and had a passion for tractor pulling, drag racing, and NASCAR. Hal served as a member of the American Red Cross and the Michigan, North Carolina, and Florida Baptist Men’s Disaster Relief organizations. He was a member and actively involved in the Etowah Baptist Church in North Carolina.

He is survived by his two daughters, Deana (Ric) Smith of Monroe, Michigan and Julie (Matthew) Jank of Jackson, Michigan, his brother Tom (Renee) Treece of Monroe, Michigan and N. Ft. Myers, Florida, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and his friend Carolyn Boyd.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by a sister and brother-in-law, Janet (Richard) Rutledge.

A private family memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the NC Baptist Men, P.O. Box 1107, Cary, NC 27512 or to the Etowah Baptist Church, P.O. Box 326, Etowah, NC 28729.
