James Howard Nichols

Jim graduated from Cary High School in 1963 where he played football and basketball. He served in the National Guard from 1964-1970 and worked at Alfred Williams for 23 years. He was a former member of Lynn’s Crossroad Ruritan Club. Jim was also the co-owner of Fairway Printing Company since 1988 and the former partner of DocuSource of NC.

He is survived by his mate of 33 years: Donna L. King; sons: Craig Howard Nichols and wife Lynn and their children, Abby and Grayson and Brian Nichols and his twin sons, Justin and Matthew; and by his sisters and their families: Barbara Mitchell, Dena Wade, Judy Martin and Peggy Dillard.

Jim was preceded in death by his brothers: Billy Nichols and John H. Nichols, along with his parents and grandparents.

He loved to play golf with his buddies and played tennis for many years at the Raleigh Racquet Club. He traveled to many places over the years and enjoyed all of the spots he visited.

Family will receive friends at Mitchell funeral home, 7209 Glenwood Ave. Raleigh, NC 27612 on Friday, January 27th from 12-12:30 PM with a service to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
