Born Jane Patterson Steele on November 28, 1942 in Versailles, KY she was the middle daughter to the late John “Jack” and Mary Steele. Jane graduated from Margaret Hall School and Ole Miss University, where she was a proud and active member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She graduated Ole Miss with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education in 1964 before going on to become a PE teacher.
In 1965 Jane married Courtney Eugene Little, with whom she had two children, John and Allison. In 1970 they moved to Charlotte where Jane was active in the community and sang in the Opera. In 1980 they moved to Raleigh, NC where Jane quickly became involved in community, social activities, along with her children’s school and sports activities. Most importantly, she found her church home in Highland UMC, where she faithfully served in many roles including a long-term member of the choir. A beautiful Soprano, Jane was one of the original members of the Cardinal Singers, where she made and fortified dozens of close friendships over decades. In 2001 Jane married Neil Broyles Webb and gained a beautiful “bonus” family welcoming Natalie, Marjie, Ginny, John and Camden and their families into her life.
Jane absolutely loved children. Throughout her life she was always involved in the care and keeping of children including time spent providing afterschool care through Wake County Public Schools, Brownie troop leader, Vacation Bible School, preschool classes at both Highland and Trinity Baptist, and much more.

Jane was kind, silly, and fun with endless energy. She was captivatingly beautiful inside and out with a 1,000 watt smile always ready to cheer your day. Jane was generous with her time including key roles in volunteer and social groups. Jane was relentlessly positive, always finding the good in every person and ready to lift anyone up. Most of all, Jane was loved, IS loved, and will be greatly missed.
