

Jerry Allen Mannen, 72, of Raleigh passed away on Monday, June 29, 2015. He was born August 2, 1942, in Waltonville, Illinois, a town founded by his great grandfather, to the late Josiah and Mary (Chapman) Mannen. Jerry was preceded in death by wives: Harryette Creech Mannen and Barbara Omura Mannen.
As soon as he was able, Jerry joined the Air Force to see the world. He was first stationed at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base where he met and married Harryette Creech Mannen. Following his time in the Air Force, Jerry attended Atlantic Christian College where he earned an accounting degree and settled in Raleigh, NC. He spent the next 40 years with Ernst & Young. Highlights of his esteemed E&Y career include: making Partner, Southeast Director of Insurance Industry Services, and President and Managing Director of Asia Pacific Financial Solutions LLC. Jerry's career nurtured his love of travel, and he traveled extensively throughout his life for both work and pleasure. He shared this passion for travel with his second wife, Barbara Omura Mannen.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at 1 pm at Saint Michael's Episcopal Church, 1520 Canterbury Road, Raleigh, NC 27608. Inurnment will follow the service in the Memorial Garden, and then the family will receive friends at a reception held in the Church Parish Hall.
Jerry is survived by his sons, Jerry Allen Mannen, Jr., and wife Stephanie, Josh Paul Mannen; step-daughters, Hilery Johnson Copeland and Valerie Johnson; grandchildren, Sallie Bennett Mannen, Mary Leighton Mannen, and Kala Copeland; brother, Ken Mannen and wife Jean; sisters, Terri Mannen Borakove and husband Fred, and Tammi Mannen LeSage, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
