She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy on Western Blvd. for many, many years.
A loving mother and devoted wife, she is survived by her two children: Franklin David Hicks, of Aurora, CO and daughter: Clara Nell Johnson, of Arbyrd, MO; eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Jessie was preceded to heaven by her husband, Charles Franklin Hicks and son, Charles Earl Hicks.
Family will receive friends on Saturday afternoon from 4-6 PM at Mitchell Funeral Home (7209 Glenwood Avenue). Graveside Services, officiated by Rev. Mary Phar, will be held on Sunday, June 5, 2011 at 2 PM at the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery (off Reedy Creek Road from Edwards Mill Road).
