Clark, DeeDee & Davis:  My heart goes out to your family.  Clark, I'm grateful to you for bringing Uncle Jack up to Dad's for a visit last year.  Your father was an amazing man, for which I have fond memories of.  Your family are all in my thoughts and prayers.  We love you.

So sorry about Dusty! From back in 1985 when the VC-9 group starting having reunions, that is when I met Dusty and Bonnie and the other WWII pilots. Indeed the greatest generation!

DeeDee, Clark, & Davis... Your dad was such a  treasure.  I have the fondest memories of both your mother & him.  My sincerest sympathy to all of you.  Teresa Stephenson Burckhalter

We have lost another member of what Tom Brokaw so accurately described as the "Greatest Generation".  They answered the call, without hesitation, and went away to war for the duration of the conflict.  The idea of a 12-month tour was not yet born and they left home and did not return until the victory was achieved.  Jack "Dusty" Diehl may be gone but his under-dog fighting spirit, quick wit,  affection of "select" oysters, and love for God and Country continue to inspire all that knew him.  We love him and will miss him always but will never forget what he represented.

I am very sorry for your loss. May the God of all comfort be with you during this difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort. My heartfelt condolences to the family during this time of sorrow.
