John Elias Eliadis, 75, of Carrboro, North Carolina passed away peacefully on May 17,2026 at the Duke Medical Center.
Born on October 30,1950 in Tarpon Springs, Florida, the oldest child of Elias Nicholas Eliadis and Lula Calos Eliadis. John graduated from Chapel Hill High School in 1968 and went on to earn a degree in Political Science at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in 1972.
He dedicated 30 years to his career in the North Carolina State Auditor’s office before retiring from his role as Financial Specialist with the NC Office of the State Controller in 2010.
Beyond work, John especially loved all things Tar Heel. He also loved socializing with his friends at Bub O’Malley’s and his many friends from the State Auditor’s office.
John is survived by his sister, Helen Eliadis and his sister-in-law, Deborah Gallo. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved sister, Frances Foteni Eliadis.
Abiding to John’s wishes, a private celebration of life will be held with family in San Diego, California.
