Johnny Marquardt Shaver

Johnny graduated from Lee Edwards High School in 1948. Mars Hills 1950, Lincoln Memorial University 1952 in Education and University of Western Carolina with a Masters in Education. Along with active service with the army for 18 months in 1954.

Johnny worked as Educator, Taught and Coach at Swannanoa School and Lee Edwards High school. Later moving to Raleigh, NC to work with Department in Public Instruction where he retired in 1990. Johnny then started a career in Educational Sales.

He was actively involved in Tennis, founder member of Raleigh Racquet Club. Johnny loved tennis and he played tennis and basketball in college. He even spent his last days watching March Madness. Johnny was involved in PTA throughout his children's school life.

Johnny is preceded in death by his Wife, Joanne Shaver who he married on August 14th, 1954. His Parents, James Allen Shaver and Violet Marquardt Shaver of Asheville, NC.

He is survived by his children, John Allen Shaver, Daughter Chryl Shaver Tritt and husband Jeffrey Allen Tritt. Grandsons, John Tyler Shaver and wife Kristy Shaver, Jackson Porter Tritt, all of Raleigh NC.

The family would like to thank Terra Bella, Knightdale and 3HC hospice for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in his final days. As well as First Baptist Church for the support through the years and his work family with DPI.

Family and friends are invited to drop in and share their favorite stories/memories of Johnny at LOCAL 919 Beer And Fine Wine, 1540 Dunn Road Raleigh, NC 27614 on April 25th from 2-4pm. The family will have a private graveside service at Raleigh Memorial Park.
